Even Mediators Can Lose Their Cool: A Christmas Fable

Even Mediators Can Lose Their Cool: A Christmas Fable

Once upon a time there was a mediator who never (well, almost never) lost her cool, whose feathers remained unruffled no matter the storm. That is, until one day, when she finally gave in to the urge to communicate her displeasure with churlish clarity and the fleeting satisfaction of a scene only Wattsapp can provide “Emily has left the chat”.

Unfortunately for this antagonist, and the countless others that have indulged before her, she quickly realised that her actions had inconvenienced herself more than anyone else as she was now forced to enter 3 different “chats” with each of her brothers rather than the group chat she had hastily removed herself from.

And so, this festive season, as we all juggle the pressures of commitments and expectations ~ spare a thought for those that might take it a step too far in a moment of frustration, and help them find their way back with grace.

As for our antagonist, luckily she has 3 very forgiving (and devilishly handsome) brothers who are about to invite her back to “the chat.”

Happy “festive season” negotiating, one and all.
